AFP-Iowa Thanks Gov. Reynolds for Transformative Work in Office
DES MOINES, IA — Today, Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds announced she would not seek reelection in 2026. Throughout her time in office, Gov. Reynolds has helped make Iowa the best place to raise a family and own a small business.
However, Reynolds’ legacy of leadership will go beyond the state border; under her guidance, Iowa has been at the forefront of passing conservative policy nationally. From passing universal Education Savings Accounts (ESAs) and massive occupational licensing reform to reducing Iowans’ tax burden to 3.8% and gutting the regulatory state by realigning government and reducing red tape, Gov. Reynolds has left a lasting legacy in the Hawkeye State.
AFP-Iowa State Director Tyler Raygor released the following statement:
“Governor Kim Reynolds has been an invaluable policy champion and fighter for Iowans throughout her service in office.
“We deeply appreciate all she has done to improve the lives of Iowans and her dedication to the state. We wish her well in this next chapter as she focuses on some well-deserved family time.”
